# Create an ID.me account

> Create an ID.me account to start using Work Authentication

If you are new to ID.me, setting up an account only takes around

15 minutes

## Choose ID.me

Select **Sign in with ID.me**

Select **Create an ID.me account**

Enter your personal email address, a [strong password](https://help.id.me/hc/en-us/articles/25753080598039-Keeping-your-account-secure-after-a-data-breach#secure-your-account), then select **Create account**

> We ask for a personal email address to ensure you always have access to your account. Don't worry, we'll ask you for your work email address in a bit.

Follow the prompts on the screen to [confirm ownership](https://help.id.me/hc/en-us/articles/202673934-Confirming-your-email-address) of the email address

Secure your account with a [multi-factor authentication (MFA)](https://help.id.me/hc/en-us/articles/360018113053-Getting-started-with-multi-factor-authentication-MFA#commonlyused-mfa-methods) option

## Add your work email address

Remember how we said we would ask for this later? Well, here we are!

Enter the email address you use for work and select **Continue**

Confirm the email address entered is correct for the organization you are representing today, then select **Yes**

## Confirm consent

Before ID.me shares any of your information, you will be asked to review what is being shared and to which organization.

Review the information that will be shared and confirm the receiving organization is correct, then select **Allow**
