A major pharmaceutical company has just launched a new drug. They begin sending the drug to various doctor’s offices across the nation so that healthcare professionals can prescribe it to patients. In order to securely gather information related to patient results, doctors and administrators will need to access specific areas within the pharmaceutical company’s network. To do this, the pharmaceutical company partners with ID.me to facilitate identity and professional verification via Business User Authentication. The assigned healthcare professionals simply select the ID.me button within the pharmaceutical company’s portal, create or sign in to an existing ID.me account, confirm their identity and work email, and are granted access to approved resources where they can input their patient’s results.

Software developers

Casey is a developer at Acme, a software company that would like to integrate a vendor’s solution into their current application. To start the process, Casey needs to access content within the vendor’s network that is only available to paying customers. Upon reaching the vendor’s developer portal, Casey sees that the vendor has partnered with ID.me to facilitate Business User Authentication. This is perfect since Casey already has an ID.me account. Logging in is fast and easy, so all Casey needs to do is verify their professional affiliation to prove they are authorized to act on behalf of their company. Casey enters their work email, confirms ownership, and is granted access to the resources they need.
